What if the driver who hit me in Florida was drinking?

You’re involved in an auto accident in the state of Florida and the other driver was drinking. It’s a crime. It’s also a fact that insurance adjusters take note of.

Juries do not like drunk drivers. Judges don’t like drunk drivers, and if you’re involved in an accident with a drunk driver or somebody who was impaired by alcohol or other drugs, it elevates the value of your claim. You are elevated from a money-seeking, injured opportunist to a bonafide victim of seriously egregious crime.

It also opens up potential avenues of liability, additional defendants, to wit, a bar or a restaurant that served alcohol to the person who was involved in the accident with you.

It’s in your best interest if you’re involved in an accident with someone who is drinking and driving to seek the advice of counsel so that they can properly investigate your claim and bring an action for you if necessary.
